At SurfXCape, the mission is to share the joy of surfing through personalized instruction grounded in years of professional experience. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, our lessons focus on safety, technique, and especially building confidence to help you ride the waves with ease.

We also offer surf lessons including a small donation that contributes to our mission: sponsoring a young, local surfer to compete.

Incredible Experience with Coach Mbuso
I hadn’t been surfing regularly and came into the lesson feeling very anxious. From the start, Mbuso was patient, calm, and understanding, even when I had a bit of a meltdown. His reassuring words and presence made me feel safe and supported in the water.
At first, I couldn’t even stand up, but after settling in and trusting his guidance, I caught the two best waves of my life.
For anyone dealing with anxiety, I can’t recommend surfing enough. Just being in the ocean helps calm the nervous system and clear the mind. With a coach like Mbuso, it’s more than just a lesson, it’s a truly healing experience.

What an awesome session we had! As someone from the Netherlands where waves are never optimal this was a great experience! Mbuso is an amazing coach, with lots of knowledge and crazy skills on the waves! Helped me out quite a lot with reading the waves an then crushing them!

Mbuso’s surf coaching helped me to improve so much. I had always been reluctant to get coaching, as it’s generally expensive, but it was well worth the money and I wish I’d taken classes with him sooner (also his prices are very reasonable!). He was able to ride the wave at the same time and give instructions whilst on the wave, helping improve my technique. He taught me how to read the waves better and how to position myself, which dramatically increased my wave count. Even on days with poor conditions where I’d normally struggle to get many waves, I’d be able to take so many. He has so much knowledge from surfing this area his whole life and competing for South Africa. If you want to improve your surfing I highly recommend you to take classes with him!
